Public sector

St. Modwen Logistics is committed to supporting public sector development. Through partnerships with local authorities, we develop schemes which bring jobs to local communities and prosperity to the local area, whilst supporting the UK’s economic growth.

Derby sustainable warehouse project

The logistics sector plays an important role in the UK’s economy by ensuring the swift movement of products and goods that businesses and consumers desire, to get to the right place, at the speed and time they want them.

The sector is constantly evolving with more companies incorporating their whole operations within their logistics buildings – bringing with them jobs across a wide variety of skill levels including IT, finance, marketing and administration.

Labour shortage within the logistics sector continues. We are committed to working with various education providers – such as the Institute of Technology – and key employers to jointly design and develop education and training opportunities aligned to the skills needed by employers in the public sector development. We are committed to nurturing the next generation of talent to support this rapidly growing sector.

The demand for modern, warm spaces filled with natural light and green outdoor space to support employee health and wellbeing is on the increase. Our schemes offer high-quality, sustainable parks and buildings. These are built with due consideration to the environment and apply ethical building practices and environmentally friendly materials. We offer energy efficient buildings that support customers in their journey to reduce their own net carbon footprint through the use of photovoltaic solar panels, minimum EPC A rating and electric vehicle charging. The buildings blend into the natural skyline, and where necessary, flood defences are installed to manage the natural flow of the waterways reducing any impact on local communities.

We are committed to improving biodiversity on our parks by protecting the natural habitats of wildlife species, contributing to local bird sanctuaries, and planting native trees and shrubs to attract further species to make the park their home.
