We place an importance on understanding the needs of our local communities and aim to promote sustainable communities through our parks and buildings.

As long-term owners of our parks and buildings, we place an importance on understanding the needs of our local communities and neighbourhoods.

Sustainability is at the heart of our build programmes and at each stage we look to minimise our impact on the environment by adopting ethical building practices and materials, blending the building into the natural skyline, and where necessary, installing flood defences to manage the natural flow of the waterways and alleviate pressure on local facilities.

Furthermore, we explore ways we can offer benefits to sustainable communities. Many of our new parks have open green spaces, fitness trails and equipment, and cycle paths which are open to all.

Our parks and buildings provide local businesses the space and opportunity to grow. The businesses produce and distribute the products and goods that we as consumers desire, and respond at speed to deliver them to the place and at the time we expect. These businesses bring with them jobs for the local communities, helping stimulate local prosperity and UK economic growth.

More information on sustainable development can be found at UK Green Building Council, a valuable resource in sustainable building practices.
